Kew Band Melbourne under new conductor Steve Bastable has taken out the 4th annual ABC 774AM Evening Show Brass Band competition.

Kew Band Melbourne (KBM) under new conductor Steve Bastible has taken out the 4th annual ABC 774AM Evening Show Brass Band competition.

This is the third year in a row that KBM have been awarded the Judge's Award.

Darebin City Brass — Preston Band under the direction of guest conductor Mark Ford, took out the listener's Award.

The competition concluded on Wednesday 6th August with a 'live to air' Grand Finale concert in Iwaki Auditorium at the ABC Melbourne Southbank Studios.

The five A grade bands: Kew Band Melbourne, Darebin City Brass, Footscray-Yarravillle City Band, Moreland City Band, and the Hawthorn Band, presented entertainment programs to a delighted audience.
