Boys wow with Weavers

Besses Boys Band wow the audience with the famous Houghton Weavers.

Besses Boys

Besses Boys Band recently took part in a concert with the famous Houghton Weavers at Radcliffe Civic Hall.

Roaring success

This is the second time the band has performed with the group and the evening proved to be a roaring success.

The band entertained the audiences with a variety of pieces ranging from 'Aces High' and 'Olympic Fanfare and Theme' whilst the Houghton Weavers wowed the crowds with their sing-along folk music.

It’s great for us to be able to perform with such a group as the Houghton Weavers. It enables us to perform to audiences that wouldn’t necessarily go to a brass band concert and hopefully make a few new friendsMD, James Holt

Duets

There was also the opportunity for the two groups to perform together in numbers such as 'Bless This House', 'Blackpool Belle' and 'Any Dream Will Do'.

New friends

MD James Holt told 4BR: "It’s great for us to be able to perform with such a group as the Houghton Weavers. It enables us to perform to audiences that wouldn’t necessarily go to a brass band concert and hopefully make a few new friends."

James added: "We must say a big thank you to Tony Berry and the Houghton Weavers for agreeing to do this concert with us and preparations are already being made for another concert, next year."
