Brass Noir recently played its first public performance at a Halloween party weekend for M Party at Matalan in Preston.

Players converged from all over the county to provide happy party style music for the shoppers who were attending the M Party Promotion.

The ensemble secretary, Jim Owen, added: "This was a fantastic start to something great. The ensemble was tight, disciplined and provided music and entertainment of a high quality."

As a direct consequence of this first job, Brass Noir will be appearing again at Matalan for the Christmas celebrations — Black Christmas perhaps?
