Results: Kippax Entertainment

Grand finish to Kippax Contest as EYMS scoop the big entertianment prize.

The Kippax Band social club was packed to the rafters last weekend for the final of the 2008 entertainment contest series.

Victors

In the end it was the East Yorkshire Motor Services Band scooped the £1,000 first prize and the Kippax Band Entertainment Trophy with Harrogate and Drighlington coming 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Clean sweep

Adjudicator Alan Morrison had praise and constructive criticism for all three bands, whilst EYMS also took the soloist prize as Principal Cornet Neil Day put in a fine performance of 'El Cumbancero'. The band also made it a clean sweep of the prize board with Principal Trombonist Mark Unsworth taking the 'Best Instrumentalist' trophy.

Tintwistle Band

September 11 • We have a vacancy for soprano cornet, and with lots of exciting engagements coming up we would love to get this seat filled! . As a second section band, we rehearse every Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom in Tintwistle.


Brunel Brass Organisation
