Tameside Youth Contest

Get along and support a great event this weekend as the Tameside Youth Brass Festival takes place in Duckinfield Town Hall.

This Sunday (23rd November) will see Tameside Council host its annual Youth Brass Festival for the twelfth year, as the provision of financial support for the development of the brass band movement in Tameside continues.

New venue

The Festival, to be held at its new venue, Dukinfield Town Hall, will feature nine Youth Bands from the world of brass, with young players aged 18 or under competing for total prize money of £3,100.

Adjudicating will be Stephen Brodie.

First band on

The competition gets under way with the first band performing at 12.00 noon with music continuing throughout the afternoon, culminating in the presentation of prizes by The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Jack Davis.

Details

Tickets will be on sale on the door, priced at £4.00 for adults and £3.00 for children/concessions.

The festival concludes a programme of brass band music for 2008, beginning with the Open Brass Band Championships in March and the recent British Open Solo & Quartet Championships, also held at Dukinfield Town Hall.
