More at Morley

The Morley March Contest will be held again next year after the success of 2008.

Morley

4BR has been informed that after the success of their previous contests, the Morley March Contest organisers will be holding their third event in the town on Sunday 21st June next year.

Same format

Contest Controller Geoff Fowler told 4BR: "The format of the contest remains the same as previous years with each band performing a short march along the pedestrian Queen Street towards the Town Hall, followed by a contest march and hymn tune to be played in the band arena outside the town hall.

All music is own choice and whilst there are no formal rules it is expected that bands will enter into the spirit of the contest and field their own regular players wherever possibleGeoff Fowler
