Guarding Santas sexy helper

Victoria Hart and the lads from the Guards Big Band are doing their bit to add some musical spice in time for Christmas and help a great cause.

It looks like the pop song 'Santa Baby' is becoming a serious contender for the top Christmas single and is being tipped to knock X-Factor off the no.1 spot for the first time in recent years.

Santa Baby

19-year old Victoria Hart and the Guards Big Band have just recorded a brand new version of 'Santa Baby', made famous of course by that old sexy siren Ertha Kitt, at the Wellington Barracks, and it will be released as a charity single for Christmas!

It could well be 'V versus X' for the top spot on Christmas Day!

Charity proceeds

More importantly however is that all profits will go to The Army Benevolent Fund – the Soldier’s Charity – which supports serving soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need.

I am a bit of a competitive girl so getting to no.1 would be great. Raising money for the soldiers is the best and I hope the troops who can’t get home for Christmas get to hear the songVictoria Hart

Great opportunity

Lt. Col. Graham Jones, MBE is very excited about the collaboration and told 4BR: "It is a great opportunity for us to be involved with such an energetic young singer who has a remarkable voice.

"We feel that we can achieve great success with such an alternative Christmas single such as this and really get the people of Britain in the festive spirit with what sums up a truly great Christmas single."

Brilliant fun

Victoria is equally excited and added: "I remember singing a jazzy version of 'Santa Baby' with my Grandmother when I was little. I never dreamt that one day I would be singing it with the Guards Big Band. Not only are they some of the best musicians in the world but they are great guys and we had brilliant fun recording the track together."

Victoria added: "I am a bit of a competitive girl so getting to no.1 would be great. V versus X – that’s funny! Raising money for the soldiers is the best and I hope the troops who can’t get home for Christmas get to hear the song."

George Clooney

Victoria Hart shot to fame last year when she was personally invited to sing for George Clooney and the stars of Ocean’s 13 on board a yacht in Cannes and has since had a whirlwind year.

With performances across the globe and a recent nationwide tour with Russell Watson, Victoria recently released her second album ‘The Lost Gershwin’. Based on music sheets that lay undiscovered since World War II and original manuscripts from the Library of Congress, the album includes never-before recorded Gershwin songs.
