BTM complete conducting team

Welsh challengers make changes in front and behind the stands to ensure 2009 contest success.

BTM

The BTM Band has announced that Tom Davoran will be their resident professional conductor for the next six months.

Majors

Tom will conduct the band at all major events including the Yeovil and Welsh Open contests as well as the Masters at Cambridge.

Meanwhile, the band will also work once more with Jason Katsikaris who will be at the helm for the Welsh Regional Championships.

Yearly review

Tom along with Jeff and Mark Hutcherson have reviewed BTM's performance last year and as a result have made some internal moves.

Jeff Hutcherson returns to flugel, Trevor Isaac moves from the front row to solo horn, Alex James returns to the repiano seat. Ben Wright moves to 2nd euphonium with Andy Gourlay leaving the band. The band also welcome Nosheen Sattar on solo cornet.

Exciting times

Jeff Hutcherson told 4BR: "These are exciting times at BTM and the focus is all about achieving our best at the British Open in September to preserve our status in the top tier.

"We have stability with Tom in the middle and are working hard together for the sustained future of the band. There are a lot of new ideas being bounced around which will see a benifit in the near future."
