Kirkintilloch Band explored new territory when they appeared at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow last Sunday as part of the Martin Green Machine.

Tsunami

The band played to a capacity audience, providing what 'The Scotsman' newspaper described as a 'tsunami of sound'.

Amplified brass

The concert was the first time a brass band has appeared at the festival and was a completely new experience for the band, involving amplified brass, special digital effects, sampling and full-on head-banging rock'n'roll!

Monstre

The music performed was excerpts from a large-scale piece called 'Monstre', specially commissioned from Martin Green with the support of the Scottish Arts Council.

It is a mixture of folk, jazz, electronica, dance, heavy metal and anything else you care to think of! It will receive its full premiere at Stirling Tollbooth on April 25th.
