Double celebration for Kippax

3rd place and 50 not out for Kippax stalwart Keith Fairburn.

A member of the Kippax Band had double reason to celebrate at the Second Section contest at Bradford on the weekend.

50 Years

As well as the band coming a credible third at the contest, stalwart Keith Fairburn was also awarded a '50 years Service' award by the Yorkshire and Humberside regional committee.

All his playing life

Keith has spent all of his 50 years in banding with Kippax and for the vast majority of that time was exceptional bass trombone player. Unfortunatley he has had to hang up his mouthpiece recently due to illness, but continues his involvement with the band as secretary and also as Chairman of the Kippax Band club.
