Sunday, 8th March 2009 proved to be one of the most outstanding days in the long story of the Wilsden Band, based near Bradford.
First time
For the very first time in their history, the band made its debut at the Yorkshire Regional Contest.
Little experience
A spokesperson told 4BR: "At least ten of our players had no experience of such an occasion, but with considerable management skill, MD Ken Lee had us all fired up with enthusiasm and peaking just at the right moment."

Great day
On the great day, the band were drawn 9th and came away with a very creditable 6th place.
As they added: "Not bad for a first attempt! We have already started our plans for entering in 2010."
