New signings at Torbay

A host of new signings are made at Torbay Brass ahead of the Areas — from Dobson to Deutchland!

Torbay Brass Band has been busy building up their ranks for the forthcoming areas.

Ten new players

Ten new players will debut with the band, amongst, them Simon Dobson on soprano, Martin Dickerson from Bettshangar Band, and Kurt Klingspoor from Germany.

I am sure that the Dobson household will be having lively discussions especially as Simon will be competing against his dad SimonTorbay Brass

Chairman David Wilkinson told 4BR: "I am sure that the Dobson household will be having lively discussions especially as Simon will be competing against his dad Simon."

Delighted

He added: "We are always delighted to welcome any new players to our ranks and apart from the three we have mentioned, we have through an open day we organised managed to recruit a new percussion section, a flugel horn, bass trombone, second euphonium and a third cornet player."
