Wessex Winter Contest

Plenty of time to get your entries in for November — plus a great Youth training contest in December too.

The Wessex Brass Band Association is holding its annual Winter Contest on Saturday 28 November at the Pavilion, The Esplanade, Weymouth.

The adjudicator this year will be Stan Lippeatt.

The choice of test piece for bands can be either one which is appropriate for their national grading or alternatively, they are free to select a piece from a higher level of difficultyOrganisers

Test pieces

Each band will enter under its recognised national grading. The choice of test piece for bands can be either one which is appropriate for their national grading or alternatively, they are free to select a piece from a higher level of difficulty.

However they will be judged in the Section that they are nationally graded, not the Section of the selected test piece.

The bands will pre-draw and play continually one after another.
