Results: West Lothian 1st Semi Final

Kirkintilloch claim their place in the West Lothian Entertainment Contest Final after a clear cut semi final win.

Kirkintilloch

The Kirkintilloch Band, conducted by Allan Ramsay, claimed their place in the West Lothian Entertainment Contest Final after posting a clear cut semi final win in Livingston on the weekend.

Four point margin

Up against Unison Kinneil directed by Andrew Duncan and Kingdom Brass conducted by Craig Anderson, the band's seven piece entertainment set saw them take the semi final honours by a four point margin.

Programme

The band started with 'Walking with Heroes', before following with the overture 'Abu Hassan', the horn solo 'Evergreen' featuring Alan Wardrope, 'All Night Long', 'Mr Sandman', Elegy' from 'Entertainments' and ending with 'Vitae Aeternum'.

No doubt

Adjudicator Philip Harper was left in no doubt to the winners and with the second semi final taking place this weekend, Kirkintilloch booked their place with something to spare ahead of second placed Unison Kinneil and Kingdom a point further back in third.

Result:

1. Kirkintilloch (Allan Ramsay) — 189
2. Unison Kinneil (Andrew Duncan) — 185
3. Kingdom Brass (Craig Anderson) — 184
