Bands ready for Buxton tests

It's not just in Montreux that you can enjoy some great brass band music making this week.

  The Buxton Pavilion is a wonderful venue for the contest

Although the European Brass Band Championships are taking place in Montreux this weekend, there is still plenty of domestic contesting in the UK to enjoy — with lots of people heading to the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton for a full day of music making at the famous Octagon Theatre.

Kick off

It kicks off at 10.30am with a great line-up of bands in each section. Tickets for sale at the door: Adults £7; Under 16's £4; Under 5's free
