Mike Lovatt will be joined by Chris Houlding to give the masterclass

There is still time to sign up for a brace of fantastic masterclasses this weekend with trumpet superstar Mike Lovatt and internationally renowned trombonist Chris Houlding.

The initiative has been promoted by Foden's Band ahead of their concert alongside Elland Youth Band and the incredible SuperBrass Ensemble at the George Lawton Hall in Mossley on Saturday 13th July.

Tips and examples

Starting at 1.00pm Mike and Chris will give practical demonstrations about how they go about their work — with tips and examples to those attending on how to improve their practice regimes as well as their musical skill sets

Following the masterclass, the concert will see Elland Youth perform an entertaining set followed by Foden's featuring Mike Lovatt who play'Virtuosity'. The second half will feature the professional stars of SuperBrass before the concert concludes with a massed item featuring all groups.

Brilliant musicians

Speaking about the event Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "We're excited to host the Masterclass with such brilliant musicians as Mike and Chris as well as sharing the stage with an equally brilliant youth band and the fantastic SuperBrass ensemble.

We are sure it's going to be a great day of music making."
