New addition to Co-op

Co-operative Funeralcare Band gain a new addition to the ranks.

The Co-operative Funeralcare Band has announced the addition of Colin Gallagher to their cornet section.

Career

Colin began his playing career in 1977 with Newmains and District Band. He played both principal cornet and soprano cornet with Newmains before joining the Kirkintilloch in 1989.

On flugel horn he won two Scottish Championships as well as a Scottish Solo Championship.

The band are delighted to welcome Colin aboard, and his arrival will give the back row cornet section greater strength in depth for the busy concert and contest schedule which lies aheadCo-operative Funeralcare

Breaks

After several breaks away from banding, Colin joined Coalburn before returning to the back row of Kirkintilloch. Following a lengthy break, Colin joined Co-operative Funeralcare Band in October.

Welcome

The band’s media spokesman, Robert McCorkell told 4BR: "The band are delighted to welcome Colin aboard, and his arrival will give the back row cornet section greater strength in depth for the busy concert and contest schedule which lies ahead."
