The Hepworth (Cookson Homes) Band rounded off their 2009 year in good brass and voice form on the weekend with a concert at Thornhill Parish Church in Dewsbury which featured their guests, the Wakefield Youth Choir.

Mix

Under the baton of guest conductor Stephen Malcolm the band provided an eclectic mix of traditional Christmas fare to go with their usual selection of concert items, the highlights of which saw the band's flugel horn player Natalie Beer give a beautiful performance of an arrangement by Peter Graham of 'Away in a Manger'.

Drive

The young choir certainly had plenty of drive about it as they added to the festive clebrations, whilst the band returned to round off the occassion with the colurful 'An American Tale' as well as music from the pen of John Rutter and James Curnow.
