Cheshire beat in Germany

Cheshire Police will be enjoying the beat in Germany later this year.

Cheshire Police

The Cheshire Police band will be 'on the beat' in Germany this coming September.

4000 people

The band have been invited to perform at the 13th European Brass and Wind Band Festival held in Schlema, Germany. The Festival attracts audiences of over 4000 people each night.

The band, and its corps of drums, are very excited at the prospect of appearing at the Festival with bands from all over Europe.

Worked hard

MD Dave Woollam told 4BR: "We have worked very hard over the past few years, gaining promotion and a place at the National finals, in what was only our second year back in contesting. To receive this invitation has very much been the icing on the cake."

Dave added: "Very few of the band actually work in the Police nowadays and I do think it is important to place on record that no public money is being used to fund the visit, it has only been possible due to the generous support of the event organisers and the fund raising activities of the band."
