The Friendly Band's Slow Melody and Quartet Contest is to be held on Sunday, 16th May at their bandroom at Water Hill Lane, Sowerby Bridge.

Stuart Fawcett, Musical Director of Meltham & Meltham Mills Band will be the adjudicator for the annual event which looks set to be yet another great day on contesting.

Sections:

The sections for the Slow Melody are as follows: 11 years and under; 13 years and under; 16 years and under; Veterans (over 40's) and the Open age section

There are various instruments awards in each section, including a trophy for the youngest player of the day.

Quartets: under 18's and the open age section.
