Dust to Dust

Ian Dust has just notched up 30 years of playing with Brighouse & Rastrick Band — and he's still going strong.

Brighouse

Ian Dust, second horn player with Brighouse & Rastrick Band has just achieved a major milestone — notching up thirty years as a player with the band.

Three decades

The three decades of playing makes him one of the longest serving members in the band's history — as well as one of its most succesful.

Achievement

The band honoured the achievement by hosting a recent dinner in his honour, where Ian and his wife Zoe were joined by fellow players, committee members and friends — 11 former members of the band.

Ian was presented with an Armani watch, whilst his wife’s unfailing support was acknowledged when she was presented with a spectacular floral arrangement by Paul Beaumont, President of the band.

Tribute

Stephen Howes, Chair of B&R Trustees and Gilbert Symes an ex B&R player both paid tribute to Ian’s dedication, professionalism and service to the band in a rousing, humorous style.

The band were also relieved to hear that Ian has no intention of retiring from the band in the foreseeable future.
