With all the excitement of the TT races over, it's back to the new releases from the companies who keep us up to date with what is being written for brass bands and what is being recorded for our pleasure.

This week all the major players in the brass band recording world are represented.

Obrasso, Polyphonic, Doyen, Egon and of course SP&S. There can hardly ever have been a time when the creative impulse in brass band composition has been so active and tonight's programme is intended to underscore just that.

21st June:

To usher in the Summer Solstice I've put together a programme which will celebrate the national day of the USA.

Just one day before the national day of the Isle of Man. Yes, I know I'm a week or so too early but that must be better than being a week or so too late!

Anyway, this week's programme is my way of celebrating the achievements with two and a half centuries of tradition behind it through the music which reflects its achievements in many fields.
