More great music on offer from Frank Renton on the BBC next month.

Radio 2
Listen to the Band:

15th July:

Frank Renton presents new CDs and listeners requests including 'Special Moments' by Austria's celebrated Brass Band Oberosterreich, 'World Class Marches' by Black Dyke and the first CD by the award winning Belgium euphonium star Nick Ost.

Listeners requests include 'The Finale' from Saint Saens mighty 'Organ Symphony' played by Grimethorpe Colliery, music by the Band of The Irish Guards, and a request for more youth bands brings the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain playing Malcolm Arnold onto the programme.

22nd July:

Frank Renton presents music especially recorded for the programme from one of the oldest bands in Britain, Hepworth (Cookson Homes) with conductor Brian Grant.

They are well known for playing entertaining concerts and their programme tonight includes the classic march 'On The Quarter Deck' by Kenneth Alford, who is often referred to as Britain’s own Sousa because of the quality of his march writing.

They also include Gordon Langford’s arrangement of 'All Through The Night', James Curnow's 'Blenhein Flourishes', euphonium player Michael Howley plays the Marvin Hamlish tune 'Looking Through The Eyes Of Love' and they end with the ever popular 'Songs of the Quay' by Goff Richards.
