New Stratas added

New layers of player Strata have been welcomed by rejuvenated band.

Strata Brass has announced a number of new signings as part of their rebuilding programme.

Principal

Martin Grimes returns to the band on principal cornet where he spent 10 years learning his craft before going on to play for Grimethorpe, Yorkshire Imps and Hadfield amongst others, whilst Donna Ramsden joins on soprano after a break playing at the top level with Yorkshire Imps and Hadfield.

The band is delighted at these signings and MD David Hirst is already working us hard for the forthcoming concert/contest seasonSecretary, Paul Wilkinson

Euph

Sarah Billard, a music student at Huddersfield University comes in on euphonium, after David Shipman was promoted to solo euphonium, whilst Jo Reasbeck moves up to solo trombone.

Simon Fisher returns to the band after an absence of several years on Eb tuba and Jonathan Walmsley comes in on solo horn after helping the band earlier in the year.

Secretary Paul Wilkinson commented to 4BR: "The band is delighted at these signings and MD David Hirst is already working us hard for the forthcoming concert/contest season."
