Bridgewater Gala finale announced

Brighouse, Foden's and Dyke announce their programmes for this weekend's Bridgwater Hall Gala finale.

The three bands taking part in the Gala Concert to round of the Great Northern Brass Arts Festival at Bridgewater Hall this wekend have announced their programmes.

Brighouse & Rastrick

Starting at 7.15pm, Brighouse & Rastrick under Professor David King will start proceedings.

They have chosen to reprise the British Open test piece 'On the Shoulders of Giants', as well as 'Born on the 4th of July' featuring Stuart Lingard, 'Priere a Notre Dame' from 'Suite Gothique' and 'Coronation Scene' from 'Boris Gudenov'.

Foden's

Foden's meanwhile will be directed by Bramwell Tovey, and will feature Gregson's 'March Prelude' as well as Mark Wilkisnon in the cornet solo 'I Heard a Saviour', 'Salt of the Earth', 'Moto Perpetuo' featuring Mark Landon, 'Be My Love' with Glyn Williams and ending with 'Kingdom Triumphant' by Eric Ball.

Black Dyke

In the second half Black Dyke under Dr Nicholas Childs will peform 'Home of Legends', 'Cats Tales', the soprano solo 'Only for You' with Paul Duffy, and Edward Gregson's 'Laudate Dominum'.

CLEETHORPES BAND CIO

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around

April 2 • . Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
