The United Co-operative Milnrow Band and David Evans have parted company with immediate effect.

Both agree

Talking to 4BR David said: "It’s with some sadness that I announce my time with the band has come to an end, but having talked to the committee at length both parties fully agree that I am unable to offer the band the type of commitment which they need at present."

Change of direction

He added: "Since the departure of Mark Peacock to Fairey (Geneva) the continuity has not been there from rehearsal to rehearsal and, after such a disappointing result at Blackpool, we all agreed that a change in direction was needed from the resident/professional framework which we had adopted."

David concluded: "I would like to that the players for their hard work and comradeship and wish them all the very best for the future."
