Death of Kirkby stalwart

The death has been announced of Kirkby Colliery's Les Knowles.

4BR has been informed of the death of Kirkby Colliery Welfare Band stalwart Les Knowles.

Popular

The popular euphonium player died on Thursday 16th June and will be greatly missed by family, friends and the brass banding world. .

He was totally dedicated to his music and everyone loved him. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Our deepest sympathies are with his wife BerylSpokesperson

Dedicated

A spokesperson told 4BR: "He was totally dedicated to his music and everyone loved him. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Our deepest sympathies are with his wife Beryl."

The funeral will be held at St. Albans Church in Forest Town at 12.00 on Thursday 30th June. Only family flowers but donations will be given to Macmillan nursing.

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
