New for old at Pemberton

Pemberton Old get new signings ahead of Area assault.

The Pemberton Old Band has announced a trio of new signings ahead of the start to their 2012 contesting season.

Ian Bateson comes in on Eb Bass, after a career that has seen him play with several local bands, HM Grenadier Guards Band and Leyland under the direction of Richard Evans.

Ian told 4BR: "After a long association with Pemberton I’m looking forward to working with such a hardworking and dedicated band."

Meanwhile, Simon Jolly, a graduate of the University of Huddersfield where he studied French horn joins the horn whilst the experienced Dave Marsh returns to the band.

After 30 years with Pemberton Dave decided to take a break at the end of 2010 but has once again been bitten by the banding bug and has rejoined on 2nd baritone.
