Junior RNCM opens its doors...

If you want to find out more about what goes on at the Junior RNCM — then find out this weekend.

RNCM

This Saturday, 11th February the Junior Royal Northern College of Music open its doors, giving youngsters a wonderful opportunity to visit the RNCM, meet current staff, students and parents — and listen to the current crop of juniors perform.

Exciting

Tuba star Les Neish told 4BR: "The birth of the Junior RNCM Brass Band in 2010 fuelled an exciting development in the already flourishing Junior RNCM Brass department and the band and its members have continued to go from strength to strength."

Working with such stars as Jens Lindemann, Rex Richardson, Mark Wilkinson, Clarence Adoo and Jonathan Corry, as well as founding conductors Maria Molund and Les, the band is continuing to tackle new repertoire and take on new performance opportunities, most recently at the RNCM Festival of Brass in January.

Brass players

Les added: "The JRNCM Brass Band is only one of our many large ensembles: Brass players also have the opportunity to perform in our Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble.

As well as the opportunities our large ensembles bring we are proud to boast a highly qualified and varied team of staff, representing all the major orchestras in the North West and beyond."
