As part of the recent Shipston Proms Festival, Shipston Town Band’s successful Junior Band gave their annual concert before a very appreciative audience at Shipston’s Methodist Church.

Varying levels

Conducting duties were shared by Tim Wilson and Charles Matthews and the programme reflected the varying levels of abilities within the band.

Music played ranged from short pieces by Matt Kingston to more advanced pieces by Jock Mackenzie, before the concert was concluded by Alan Fernie’s ‘Best Of Bond’ and ‘Hava Nagila’.

Surprise

A surprise item by three of the youngest players, twins Matthew and James Barrett and Joe Tame who performed the duet ‘German Tune’ drew spontaneous applause.
