Fancy being a brass band judge in Scotland?

If you fancy taking your first step on the adjudication ladder then the Fife Charities Band Association wants you to get in touch.

Adjudicating

The Fife Charities Band Association is looking to give a leg up to the first rung of the brass band adjudication ladder to an aspiring young judge.

Contest

The Association is holding its annual contest in the Adam Smith Centre, Kirkcaldy in Fife on Saturday, 6th October.

The contest normally has two adjudicators: one main adjudicator to judge the March, Hymn Tune and Test Piece contest and a second to judge the solo and sectional awards.

Opportunity

Chairman Steven Craig told 4BR: "This year the FCBA would again like to give one aspiring young adjudicator the opportunity to carry out this role as second adjudicator.

They will be responsible for awarding all the solo and sectional prizes (Best Basses, percussion etc), and providing each band with a written critique for all three pieces."

First step

He added: "This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the first step into adjudicating as bands from all 5 sections will be on show at the contest, whilst guidance will be given by the contest organisers and the main adjudicator."

Further information:

To be considered please forward your full musical CV to the Chairman of the Fife Charities Band Association at: chairman@fcba.org.uk

The successful person will be notified by the end of August.
