WA first for RASWA horn star

Sarah Draper has become the first West Australian member of National Australia Brass at NABFest.

NABfest was held in Melbourne last week. Sarah who plays solo horn with RASWA Brass (formerly Midland Brick) has been with the band since 2000. Sarah said “It's an honour and a privilege to be invited to NAB and even more so that I'm the first representative from Western Australia. I really enjoyed working with Professor King and the band.”

Sarah started playing tenor horn at the age of 8. She is the current WA Champion of Champions after claiming her 7th title last month.

Sarah works as a Primary School Music Specialist and Brass Instrumental teacher in Perth. Along with being Secretary of RASWA Brass, Sarah is actively involved in the organising committee for the 2013 Yamaha National Band Championship that will be held in Perth.
