With Cheltenham bound challengers beginning to start the serious hard work on their test pieces for the National Finals, the Boarshurst Band has announced that listeners will be able to get a pre-finals taster of all four set works on 16th September.

Four bands

The popular event at the Boarshurst Band Club in Greenfield in Saddleworth will see Rainford (First Section), Mossley (Second Section), Elland Silver (Third Section) and Parr St Helens (Fourth) give short concert programmes that will also a performance of their given Cheltenham set works.

Several adjudicators are being asked to attend to assist the bands in their final weeks of preparation.

The evening has been organised by the Boarshurst MD, David W Ashworth, who told 4BR: "Every band was only too happy to take part in what has become an annual event for us at Boarshurst. I cannot thank the bands enough and wish them all every success for the Finals themselves."
