White stuff for Cinderford

Kevin White takes up the MD baton at Cinderford.

Kevin White

4BR has been informed that Kevin White will be joining the Cinderford Band as Musical Director, to work with Clive Lewis with immediate effect.

Excited

Kevin told 4BR: "I’m really excited at the prospect of taking up the baton at Cinderford.

The rich heritage and roots of the band are firmly set in the town and I see this as a fantastic opportunity to help them re-establish themselves as the premier band in the Forest of Dean."

Riding high

Under the leadership of Clive Lewis and Professional Conductor Dave Lea, the band is currently riding high after the successes at the recent Wychavon Contest.

Kevin added: "I would like to say how much I appreciate the years of dedicated hard work put in by Clive, both with the band and the Academy Band, and I will work closely with him to keep the standards high and also to reflect on the devotion shown by the late Cecil Chappell.

If I can achieve an ounce of the respect that Cecil generated both as a person and as a musician I will consider myself blessed."

Meanwhile Clive Lewis added: "I’m pleased to be welcoming Kevin on board. He will be a great asset to us and I‘m looking forward to working with him."
