The hard working members of Burry Port Town Band are gearing up their preparations for their second Solo & Ensemble Day on Saturday 2nd February.

Festival

The West Wales Brass Festival event takes place at the town’s Memorial Hall, starting at 10.00am and provided the opportunity for players of all ages to showcase their solo and ensemble talents.

Band Chairman Graham Howe told 4BR: "This is an important event for the band and the town as it offers an opportunity for players to perform in a friendly, but competitive atmosphere."

Entries

Entries have already come in from across South Wales, with competitors lined up from the Welsh counties of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Swansea and the various South Wales valley.

Graham added: "The band is looking forward to entries in a variety of classes for solos, duets, trios, small and large ensembles and finally full Youth bands, and believe it will be an ideal opportunity for players to showcase their talents to an appreciative audience.

Because of that approach there are guidelines, not rules, no timing of performances, and we leave it to each performer to manage their performance time."

Entries should be in by January 18th, so if you are interested then for further information go to: http://www.burryporttownband.co.uk/
