Phillip Littlemore, for over twenty years a recognised figure in the brass band world, announces the launch of his new business, Timbercroft Publishing.

Best composers

Formerly the Sales & Marketing Director at Faber Music, Phillip was also key to developing Faber’s brass band and wind band catalogues, working closely with some of their best composers in the genre including Kenneth Hesketh, Nigel Hess, Carl Davis, Jonathan Dove, Simon Dobson and Gavin Higgins.

Phillip contributed to both catalogues with a number of arrangements, and many of them have been regularly featured by some of Britain’s finest bands both on the concert and contest stage.

Brass in Concert winner

Indeed his arrangement of ‘O Magnum Mysterium’, played by Leyland Band at the 2010 Brass in Concert, was awarded best composition/arrangement of the day.

The catalogue, which initially comprises around 30 items for brass or wind band, can be viewed at www.timbercroftpublishing.com which also includes sound clips for a number of the arrangements.

New arrangements

Alongside the Timbercroft titles, arrangements published by Boosey & Hawkes, Chester Music and Faber Music are also listed.

There are a number of new arrangements in the pipe line, while Timbercroft Publishing also offers a commissioning service, whereby a band may seek a specific arrangement for its own exclusive use for an agreed period of time, subject to third party licensing.

Other services

In addition, Timbercroft Publishing also offers an editing, proofing and note-setting service as well as a mobile recording facility, including all post production requirements such as CD artwork and manufacturing.

Phillip is currently Musical Director of both Ware Brass and St. Albans City, in Hertfordshire.

He also runs a successful marketing consultancy.
