Penicuik Silver has announced a brace of signings to bolster their ranks.

Sop and baritone

Soprano cornet Dawn Coventry, who previously played with St. Davids and Selkirk recently made her debut in the band’s prize winning performance at the Fife Brass Band festival contest in Dunfermline.

Meanwhile, Margaret Forrest joins permanently on second baritone after making her debut at the Scottish Championships earlier in the year.

Margaret’s husband Ian is the band’s solo euphonium and won the coveted ‘Best Instrumentalist’ award at the event.

I would like to wish both players a happy association with the band and I look forward to working with both of them over the coming monthsMD, Stuart Black

Great addition

MD, Stuart Black, told 4BR: "Margaret has been a great addition to the ranks since arriving before the Scottish Championships, whilst we are delighted to have Dawn on board."

He added: "I would like to wish both players a happy association with the band and I look forward to working with both of them over the coming months."
