4BR Sunday Quiz: The answer!

It's been a difficult one to sort out — but finally we have an answer....

Hendrix

Thanks to everyone for joining in the fun with our Sunday Quiz, and especially those who knew the connection between a flamboyant drug addled musician and the occasionally violent lead in a film about a Scottish gang of misfits.

Renton

Thanks also to those who knew that Jimi Hendrix was buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Renton, Washington State USA and that Ewan McGregor played the part of Mark ‘Rent Boy’ Renton in the film ‘Trainspotting’!!!!

(insert cymbal crash — Editor)

Yes. The answer to the 4BR Sunday Quiz you really were looking for was Renton.

He (Frank Renton that is) of the British Open win in 1991 and the famous National Championship title success in 1992 with Grimethorpe Colliery Band, as well as the great character in the 1996 Danny Boyle film and the even greater left handed guitar playing genius.

Any other connections you may have made are entirely spurious....

Thanks also to those who knew that Jimi Hendrix was buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Renton, Washington State USA and that Ewan McGregor played the part of Mark ‘Rent Boy’ Renton in the film ‘Trainspotting’!4BR

Winner

Our winner of the four great CD recordings is Patricia Woodings who we will be getting in touch with on Monday, after the 4BR Editor has finished listening to a brass band version of ‘Purple Haze’...
