The City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) M1 Band has announced a number of new signings ahead of their First Section National Finals challenge in Cheltenham in September.

Principal cornet

Iestyn Davies (above) takes on the principal cornet role after joining from Tylorstown — taking over from David Leak who is taking a playing sabbatical to concentrate on his studies.

He is joined by Bekka Noons and Russell Lock from Tongwynlais Temperance on baritone and repiano cornet respectively, whilst Jonathan Bowden, who plays for the Prince of Wales Division Band takes over on soprano.

Promotion

Alex Humphreys also joins the cornet section, having moved to Cardiff from Northop, whilst the band is delighted to welcome yet another promoted player from the organisation's M2 Band as
Amy Herman comes into the percussion section.
