Scott's sound of 15,000 feet

Sound engineer Richard Scott certainly knows what 15,000 feet sounds like — first hand.

Sky dive

The highly respected — and daredevil — sound engineer Richard Scott is enjoying life with his feet back firmly on the ground after taking part in a 15,000 feet charity parachute jump.

3 miles

Richard recently took the plunge — from 3 miles up in the wide blue yonder, and has already risen close to £2,000 for the Christie Charity that provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds for more than 40,000 cancer patients — with hopefully more to come.

Richard told 4BR: "It was good — really it was! I wasn't scared, just apprehensive, but once you're up there and they open the door it happens so quickly.

All you can do is think about what they've told you: You haven't got time to worry — just enjoy! The instructor's going to go, and you're fastened to him, so you're going too!"

All you can do is think about what they've told you: You haven't got time to worry — just enjoy!Richard Scott
