Enderby welcomes new sigings

The Enderby Band has welcomed new signings as they prepare for a busy contesting autumn.

Enderby

The Enderby Band has announced the signings of Rob Wilshaw and Matt Capaldi as they look forward to a busy end of the contesting year.

Rob will take the solo trombone seat and comes to the band after enjoying successful spells at Trentham Brass, Foresters Brass 2000 and Foden's.

Thrilled

He told 4BR: "I'm thrilled to join a band with such a busy diary of concerts and contests. Enderby has great support and I'm looking forward to working with MD Simon Gresswell.

I'm sure his guidance and experience will help to shape Enderby into a force for the future.'

Meanwhile, Matt joins on solo cornet from Shephard Group Band. Matt is currently studying International Relations at the University of Birmingham, and he added: "The band was so welcoming when I went to a rehearsal that I already felt at home. There's a great atmosphere and they work really hard, but still manage to have fun."

Pleased MD

MD, Simon Gresswell was understandably pleased with the new members as he told 4BR: "Matt is a fantastic addition to the cornet section and I'm also delighted to welcome Rob, who is a fine trombone player of great experience."

The band is now hard at work preparing for a busy autumn season which sees them competing at Wychavon Entertainment Contest and 'home' LBBA contest, as well as two high profile concerts at the prestigious Curve and DeMontfort Hall venues.
