Roger, Roger for Ebury Brass

An ensemble made up of some of the top Corps of Army musicians has been enjoying working with two iconic Rogers....

Ebury Brass

Ebury Brass — formed from the five famous 'Foot Guards' Bands in London as an ensemble of excellence, is set to assist the Corps of Army Music's latest recruitment drive for professional musicians.

Finest musicians

The group which consists of some of the finest military musicians in the UK, gets together throughout the year to perform at high profile functions and events, and has previously worked with the likes of Grimethorpe principal cornet Dr Roger Webster on his CD recording 'My Heroes'.

At the moment the ensemble is hard at work rehearsing compositions and arrangements from the Superbrass ensemble — led by bass trombone virtuoso Roger Argente of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Privilege

A spokesperson told 4BR: "It's a great privilege to work alongside the likes of Roger Webster and Roger Argente — two superb musicians. These are performers of the very highest calibre — and we get to learn so much from them.

Our role is to help with drive recruitment and retention, so showing what opportunities are available for professional brass musicians in the Corps of Army Music is an essential part of our job — and one that is also available to those who wish to explore a career with us."

Recital concert

Ebury Brass can be heard in a recital concert in the stunning setting of the Guards Chapel in London on Tuesday 27th October at 1.00pm.

During the recital the ensemble will be raising money for the charity 'Children of Fire', www.childrenoffire.org and forms part of a Household Division 'Open Day', provided to highlight career opportunities for musicians within the Army.

Further events

Further events where some of the Ebury musicians can be seen will be at the annual 'Scarlet & Gold' concert in the Cadogan Hall on 2nd & 3rd December, whilst they will also be hitting the road next year with a recital performance at Huddersfield University in April.
