4BR has been informed that the funeral of the popular bandsman Mark Rodgers will be held on Friday 27th May.

It will take place at 2.00pm at Denshaw Church, with friends, family and brass band supporters invited afterwards to Denshaw Village Hall.

Flowers and donations

The family has requested that although flowers are welcome, donations in lieu can also be give to Denshaw Church.

No hymn tribute

Bob and Mary Rodgers have been deeply overwhelmed by the many messages received in respect to their much loved son, especially from bands playing at the Whit Friday contest they run in Delph, but they have requested that they do not perform any hymn tune in tribute before marching down the street to the contest venue.

However, if bands do wish to leave flowers at the contest ring, they are most welcome to do so.
