It has been announced that Manger Musikklag will be conducted by Peter Szilvay at the 2017 Norwegian National Championship.

It will be the first time since the Bergen event in 2013 that he will conduct the band in competition — renewing an electrifying musical partnership that memorably claimed the Norwegian National in 2011 and the European crown the following year.

It was also announced that he will work with the band on other projects during 2016 and 2017.

Critical acclaim

During his period away from the Manger helm, Szilvay has gained widespread critical acclaim for his conducting work — including a number of high profile recordings and concert and opera appearances with leading orchestras and ensembles.

Manger was conducted at the 2014 and 2015 Norwegian Championship by Cory MD Philip Harper, whilst they have also linked up for contest successes with Martin Winter, Allan Withington and Rune Hannisdal.
