What record breaking Olympic athlete's identity is linked by a famous set of Bach variations arranged in a brass band test piece by a Norwegian composer, a Daphne du Maurier novel and the 1970's television game show 'The Golden Shot' with Bob Monkhouse?

Please give us the reason to go with your answer so that we know you haven't just guessed!

Last Winner

We had another great response to our Friday quiz, with our winner of the latest trio of CDs being Adrian Longbottom — who plays second euphonium with the Emley Band in West Yorkshire.

He knew it was the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals that was the link between a famous test-piece used both at the British Open and National Finals (Diadem of Gold), a 1967 pop song hit by Jeff Beck (Hi Ho Silver Lining) and an 1835 comic opera (and famous overture) by composer Daniel Auber (The Bronze Horse).
