New Director states aims at Ty Cerdd

Deborah Keyser has been appointed the new Director of the body that oversees the development and promotion of Welsh music making — including the bid to host the 2020 European Championship in Cardiff.

Ty Cerdd, the body which oversees the creation and promotion of professional and amateur music making in Wales has announced the appointment of is new incoming Director.

Respected

Deborah Keyser will take over the role from the highly respected Gwyn L Williams on November 1st, and hails from a professional background that has included the leadership of Creu Cymru, which looks after the artistic development of theatres and arts centres in Wales

In her first public newsletter she stated: "I particularly look forward to working with the immensely rich scene of composers and performing groups that flourishes in Wales, and connects with communities across our nation.

Ty Cerdd's unique location, in the public foyer of Wales Millennium Centre, is a huge advantage for the organisation, and for the profile of Welsh music."

Wantage Silver Band

August 22 • Wantage Concert Brass (1st Section) are looking for a SOLO HORN and PERCUSSIONIST. Under the direction of our dynamic and inspiring MD Daniel Hall. This year we achieved 3rd at the L&SC regionals. We rehearse Tue & Fri 7:30pm- 9:30pm in our own bandhall

August 20 • Front Row Cornet & Tenor Trombone. We're a friendly, ambitious Second Section band based in South East Northumberland just north of Blyth. We rehearse Tuesdays & Thursdays, 19:30-21:30, and transport can be provided depending on location.


Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band

August 18 • Putney and Wimbledon Band are looking for a percussionist, ideally tune although the ability to play an anvil is an absolute must! We play exciting music with lots of percussion so there's plenty to keep you occupied.
