Boarshurst Band has welcomed a number of new signings following their Second Section National Championship victory in Cheltenham as they look forward to life in the First Section in 2018.

Making a mark

Damien Hall comes in on solo trombone with Sam Thompson on second euphonium, with MD James Garlick telling 4BR that the signings are a sign of the band's ambition to make a mark from the word go on their promotion.

"2017 was a fantastic year, especially as we become National Champion,"he said. "However, we are a band that is realistic about the challenge ahead and these two excellent signings shows that we want to make a significant impression in the First Section.

Hard work and commitment is second nature to this band, so we are confident we can make a mark from 1st January with Damien and Sam on board."

Delighted to be a part

In reply, Damien added: "Both Sam and I are delighted to be a part of the Boarshurst Band family. It's already been a pleasure to be a part of such a forward thinking, hard working group of musicians, and we are looking forward to 2018 already."
