Extra junction stop offs at J36 Brass

The North of England band named after a motorway junction has just added a couple of extra stop offs as they head towards the Area Championships in Durham.

Signings
The new signings have boosted J36 before they head to the North of England Area

J36 Brass has announced the signings of Sam Middleton on percussion and Andrew Brown on EEb tuba ahead of their North of England Regional Championship appearance in Durham later this month.

Sam is an A level student from the Penrith, whilst Andrew is making the commute to the band from the North East.

Local talent

Chairman John Miller told 4BR: "We're delighted Sam has joined as it's another youngster to join the ever increasing number of local teenagers coming to the band.

I'm very proud to say it brings the number of Cumbrian based players to 21 and Andrew also brings a vast amount of playing experience with his stint at Catterick Brass."

Everyone in the band is now looking forward to the Area Championships in Durham where we hope to consolidate our Second Section statusBand Chairman, John Miller

Looking forward

He added: "We enjoyed a busy second half to 2017 culminating in a charity Christmas concert where nearly £1,500 was raised for the Royal Agricultural Benevolence Society.

Everyone in the band is now looking forward to the Area Championships in Durham where we hope to consolidate our Second Section status."
