Blackpool Brass has announced the appointment of the experienced Len Charnock as their new Musical Director.

Having played at the very highest level with the likes of Fairey, Wingates, Yorkshire Imps and Swinton Concert enjoying numerous successes, he also took to the baton to lead Eccles Borough and Pilling Jubilee Silver — taking the latter to contest victories at Rochdale and Kirkby Lonsdale, as well as qualifying for the National Finals.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are now looking forward to a happy and hardworking partnership with Len in the busy concert schedule planned before Christmas and preparing for Preston Contest and the North West Area Championships in 2019."
