Poulton-le-Fylde Band has rounded off their 2018 season with the announcement of no less than six new signings.

Joining on solo horn and solo baritone are Jen Ormerod and Keri Waterhouse from Pilling Band, with both players having helped the band out in recent months.

Julian Guillot, the Bandmaster at Blackpool Salvation Army and his daughter Becca fill the vacant bass trombone seat and second cornet seat respectively, whilst Gill Sherlock joins on second horn from Blackpool Brass along with Thomas Lambert on second cornet from Hodgson Academy.

We are enjoying fun yet hardworking rehearsals, and we look forward to our annual show at Blackpool's Grand Theatre as well as the 2019 contest seasonChairman, Andy Moore

Right time

With the band's busy Christmas season upon them the signings have come at just the right time according to Chairman Andy Moore.

"It's great to welcome so many new players,"he said. "I don't think it's any coincidence that we have seen players arrive and stay since Alex Webb began his conducting role.

We are enjoying fun yet hardworking rehearsals, and we look forward to our annual show at Blackpool's Grand Theatre as well as the 2019 contest season."
